How we do it?  
Maya Moon Counseling is a practice that focus in an embodied and mindfulness psychological approach that empowers a person to manage their stress reactions caused by a traumatic experience.

 - What to expect in your session?

A session consists of therapy talk, body sensations, movement, processing; and compassionate inner guidance.
Your therapist will provide with support to engage in a sense of balance and well-being with movement. Releasing the trauma from the body in a supportive environment without risk for re-traumatization.

-Research and organizations supporting Body-Mind Yoga Based Psychotherapy approach:

For your journey, mindfulness based trauma treatment  techniques are provided in your sessions. Many of those techniques are based in holistic research supported by organizations that are leading the neuroscience and psychology in the United States and in the world.

Maya Moon Somatic Experiencing and Holistic based treatment:

A- Eastern Psychology techniques from the yoga and yoga therapy approach, also we use energy work, chakra psychology, energy medicine and positive psychology.

B- The Western approach supporting the Eastern techniques  with base in Somatic Research. Body-Mind Psychology is scientific base research in human psychology by Bessel Van der Kolk, Ph.D. Peter Levine, Dr. Steven Porges, Pat Ogden, etc. 


- What you will need in your Self-journey for your personal Transformation?
 Easy meditation techniques, yoga, movement and energy work are part of your treatment. Being open to this approach its important. We recommend your in your first session to discuss with provider your openness and willingness to engage in this unique approach.








Based research studies by the APA supports the connection between the mind and the body (Monitor on Psychology, issue April 2013, by American Psychological Association. Our approach is supported by the American Psychological Association (APA), Harvard School Research, the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, and the American Psychiatry Association.
   


 Additional Resources based in Wellness and therapeutic benefits for your body-mind:

1- Our practice can refer you to a Licensed Massage Therapist, also we provided with a certified Reiki Master. Alternative treatments are based on body work that addresses sensations associated with your trauma or stress response. Any referral for service requires that you sign a consent and HIPPA release form.

2- Your Primary Care Physician: I can coordinate your treatment plan with your physician, per your request only. Your physician provides with brief updates if you are at risk for other physical illness. Focus is somatic prevention to assist nervous system to self-regulate. 

HIPPA requirements are always followed in our practice.




Maya Moon follows the Ethical guidelines from the National Board of Certified Counselors and the American Psychological Association. 


 Contemplation of the nature heals our mind and our body. The spirits of the nature on trees, plants, animals, water, soil, incepts, etc, they are your initial contact with  your higher self. If you give to yourself a space for contemplation, you are giving to yourself  a space for self-care and self-love.
