Meditation

I endorsed a great organization in Sand Lake, directed by Leonard Perlmutter, and founder of American Meditation Institute. According to Mr. Perlmutter, meditation helps the mind to slow down, "one pointed focus of attention and awareness".  (AIM classes for January-March, 2015).

THE ART OF EATING WITH MINDFULNESS

Many asked me how I keep my weight in control, I just said "I keep my eating mindfulness".

Here some tips:

1- Chew your food and take time for swallowing and enjoying the flavor, recommended time 20 to 30 minutes.
2- Always tried to eat daily at least 3 different colors in fruit or vegetables. Red, green, yellow, purple, etc.
3- Use cilantro in your meals, as Latina my meals always are high in cilantro and garlic.
4- Drink water, the water has oxygen and we forgot that water revitalize our body with oxygen.

REASONS WHY WE SHOULD MEDITATE:
1- Health improves with daily meditation, scientific studies from Mayo Clinic confirmed who meditation lowers blood pressure, decrease anxiety and depression.
2- Socialization skills are improved, helps to remain calm when we talk, compassion and kindness are part of the great results from meditation.
3- Expression of creativity seems to improve and intelligence.


ADHD/ADD and Meditation:
According to the American Academy of Child and Psychiatry, meditation helps to increase cognitive control and enhances self-regulation.
